Provincial, District and School administered scholarships, bursaries and awards are just some of the types of funding available to students. Applying for scholarships can be a lot of work, but it’s worth it! It is each student’s responsibility to research the kinds of scholarships they may be eligible for.
School District No. 85 (Vancouver Island North), through its supportive community members and North Island businesses, provides its secondary schools, (Eke Me-Xi Learning Center, North Island Secondary School and Port Hardy Secondary School), with a wide range of academic, student achievement, service-based scholarships, bursaries and awards to students. Remember, few scholarships today are awarded solely on the basis of grades. Increasingly, a service component (either school or community-based) is required. Get involved!
