“My Ḵ̓wa̱la’yu” meaning ‘my reason for living’ is an original music video project written, recorded and filmed by N’we Jinan along with a group of youth from the Gwa’sala-‘Nakwaxda’xw Nations who are also students of the Eke Me-Xi Learning Centre. This acoustic power ballad explores all sides of their community – positive, negatives and how they persevere regardless of any hardships.
