Sunset's Clayton Harder took home the Western University Entrance Scholarship Bronze Medal at the Canada Wide Science Fair in London Ontario. Clayton was also awarded the Nuclear Management Organization Excellence Award Junior Bronze Medal. Way to go Clayton!


Grade 7s at Alert Bay Elementary School helped harvest herring eggs (a'ans) from hemlock branches.  Students cleaned the branches and froze the eggs. The eggs will be used in an upcoming celebration. Much sampling was done along the way.


The PHSS Drama Club travelled to Campbell River for the North Island Regional Drama Festival, where they participated in two days of drama workshops and performed the one act play "Look Me in the Eye" by Lindsay Price.


"Thank you Mrs. Ropponen. I'm 100 days smarter" is the saying on this clever 100 Day project made with 100 googly eyes.


"Unpacking the standards".  Part of the PHSS teacher team working to align grades 8 and 9 English language arts with RTI principles.



Isabella Glasov, a grade 12 student at NISS, will have her artwork  published on the cover of the June edition of the BCPVPA magazine "Adminfo". The piece is acrylic on canvas and is titled "Headless Man".


Cheslakees Kindergarten students enjoy a rainy day playing in the puddles.
