On Wednesday, June 21, 2017, National Aboriginal Day is a day recognizing and celebrating the cultures and contributions of the First Nations, Inuit and Métis Indigenous peoples in Canada. Many students and staff were in attendance to watch this incredible event organized downtown Market Street at Carrot Park in Port Hardy. Listening to the drums and singers while watching the dancers, the crowd is in its glory. It is a beautiful sight to see, with the picturesque scenery behind to emphasize what country we live in. With heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding achievements of our aboriginal peoples this marks another day celebrated and student learning brought to life.
